　On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, “Special Lectures from Outstanding Young Scientists 11” was held in Lecture Room 210 at Konan University’s Port Island Campus. This lecture series was planned as part of the FIBER International Summit for Nucleic Acids (FISNA) and provides a platform for young researchers who are expected to play an active role internationally in the field of nanobiotechnology to present their latest research findings.

　Lecture title： BIVID-MaP identifies variant-specific interaction between small-molecule and RNA structure
　Speaker : Dr. Emi Miyashita （ Cebter for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) Kyoto Univresity, JAPAN ）

　Dr. Miyashita presented the latest research findings on foundational technologies that connect RNA-targeted drug discovery and precision medicine.

　Lecture title : Visualisation of stimuli responsive modified　G-Quadruplex dynamic systems
　Speaker : Dr. Kathrin Ludwigs（ Department of Bioinorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, TU Dortmund University, GERMANY ）

　Dr. Ludwigs presented the latest research findings not only on analyzing the shape of DNA, but also on capturing the moment when the shape of DNA changes in response to external stimuli.

　At the end of the lecture, a group photo was taken of the speakers and related parties, making it a very meaningful time for international research exchange.

【Event details】

We will have “FIBER Webinar Universe in Nucleic Acids Chemistry 37” as a public webinar lecture in a series of “FIBER FUTURE COLLEGE” on 20th November 2024.
It will be held as “Special Lectures from Outstanding Young Scientists”. We invited Ms. Emi Miyashita from Kyoto University and Ms. Kathrin Ludwigs from TU Dortmund University. They are postdoc performing promising research works in nucleic acid chemistry. It will also provide recent research progresses based on Bilateral Program research grant from The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
