On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, we held the International Exchange Seminar on Science and Culture at Konan University’s Okamoto Campus.
This program is an international exchange seminar that invites leading researchers from overseas to introduce cutting-edge life science research (nucleic acid chemistry research) along with the cultural backgrounds of their respective countries.

Lecture Title：A Panoramic View of Indian Cultural Diversity
Lecturer：Prof. Sudipta Bhowmik（Mahatma Gandhi Medical Advanced Research Institute(MGMARI), SBV University）
Professor Bhowmik introduced the rich cultural background and allure of India, multiethnic, multiple languages, and multiple religions.

Lecture Title：Puedue University and G-quadruplex DNA Secondary Structure
Lecturer：Prof. Danzhou Yang（Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Purdue University）
Professor Yang introduced Purdue University and presented the latest research findings on G-quadruplex (higher-order DNA), a special DNA structure that is attracting attention as a target for cancer treatment.
This lecture series provided a valuable opportunity to broaden our international perspectives and gain access to cutting-edge biological and chemical knowledge, which will greatly contribute to our future research activities.

Researchers will provide accessible explanations of their home countries’ cultures and their latest research. Participation is free of charge. We encourage you to join us. Please note that the presentations will be given in English.
We look forward to the participation of not only university and corporate researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students, but also local residents with an interest in science.
