　On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, we held the “FIBER Nucleic Acid Universe ☆ Rising Stars” forum online.

　This forum is held to provide a platform for young researchers who are expected to lead cutting-edge research internationally in the field of nucleic acid chemistry to present their latest research findings.

【Lecture１】 15:30 –
　Lecture title： Do anions regulate the stability and function of nucleic acid structures？
　Lecturer : Dr. Sinjan Das（Frontier Institute for Biomolecular Engineering Resarch (FIBER),Konan University）

　Dr. Das presented the latest research findings on nucleic acid structures, which precisely regulate structural stability and biological function.

【Lecture２】 16:00 –
　Lecture title：Roles of chromatin DNA higher- order structure in mammalian cell
　Lecturer：Dr. Sefan Asamitsu（Laboratory for Functional Non-coding Genomics, RIKEN Center for Integrative）

　Dr. Asamitsu presented the latest research findings on the role of higher-order structures as important epigenetic regulatory mechanisms that control the on/off switching of gene expression.

【Lecture３】
　Lecture title：Anticancer nucleic acid therapeutics through excessive activation of RNase H
　Lecturer：Dr. Kunihiko Morihiro（Graduate School of Enginnering, University of Tokyo）

　Dr. Morihiro presented the latest research findings on an anti-cancer strategy that involves physically destroying mRNA that causes cancer and enabling RNase H to function efficiently within cancer cells.

　This lecture provided a valuable opportunity to deepen our understanding of the physicochemical properties of nucleic acid chemistry, its spatial arrangement within cells, and the functional molecules controlled by therapeutic applications, and will greatly contribute to future research activities.

We invite leading researchers in the field of nucleic acid chemistry and hold “FIBER FUTURE COLLEGE” as an open lecture.

We will organize “FIBER Webinar Universe☆Rising Stars” via webinar in a series of “FIBER FUTURE COLLEGE” on 1st August 2024. In this forum, young researchers who are expected to lead cutting-edge research in the field of nucleic acids Chemistry will be invited to present their latest research results.

We look forward to the participation of researchers from a wide range of fields, including universities, research institutes, and companies.
